Core Retirement Strategies

Retirement Tax Roadmap

For retirees and near-retirees, our Retirement Tax Roadmap turns savings into tax-efficient income. By coordinating taxable, tax-deferred, and Roth accounts, we build a long-term strategy designed to reduce tax surprises, manage future RMDs, and support your retirement lifestyle.

Roth Conversion & RMD Planning

Through a proactive, long-term lens, we identify opportunities to convert retirement assets at strategic times, before future RMDs create unnecessary tax pressure. Our planning considers several current and future risks, to optimize your lifetime tax liability.

Legacy & Income Preservation

We help you protect the wealth you’ve built and preserve the legacy you want to leave. Our customized strategies review lifetime tax exposure, charitable giving, family gifting, survivor tax exposure, and estate-related tax concerns through a retirement-focused lens.

Protect Your Wealth. Preserve Your Legacy. Retirement tax systems designed to support your long-term goals, strengthen your confidence, and protect your wealth for the people and purposes that matter most.

What Is WealthPath

Main Logo of WealthPath CPA

The WealthPath Retirement Tax System provides a proactive, year-round strategy for turning your retirement savings into tax-efficient income, reducing future tax surprises, and making major retirement decisions with confidence.

It helps you move beyond the standard “withdraw from this account first” approach and gives you clear, actionable steps to coordinate your taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free accounts around your long-term goals.

Without wondering whether Roth conversions make sense — without being surprised by future RMDs — without guessing how Social Security, Medicare thresholds, investment income, and retirement withdrawals will affect your tax picture.

Because let’s face it — retirement should be about enjoying the wealth you’ve built, not worrying whether each decision is creating unnecessary taxes down the road. Most retirees have spent decades saving into different accounts, but very few enter retirement with a coordinated tax strategy for how to use those accounts.

They may have a financial advisor managing investments. They may have a CPA preparing last year’s tax return. But too often, no one is connecting the dots between retirement income, tax brackets, Roth conversions, RMDs, Social Security taxation, Medicare IRMAA, charitable giving, family legacy goals, and lifetime tax exposure.

That’s the problem with traditional retirement tax planning. Retirement taxes are not a once-a-year event. Your spending needs, account values, income sources, tax law, health care costs, family goals, and legacy priorities can all change throughout retirement — and every one of those changes can create tax consequences or planning opportunities.

The WealthPath Retirement Tax System gives you a clear, forward-looking process for protecting your wealth, preserving your legacy, and creating a more confident retirement. We help you understand which accounts to draw from, when Roth conversions may make sense, how to manage future RMD exposure, and how to align your tax strategy with the life you want to live and the legacy you want to leave.

Here's what you get with WealthPath CPAs & Advisors:

✅ Proactive Retirement Tax Planning: We don’t wait until tax season to tell you what happened. We help you plan ahead, identify tax opportunities early, and make informed retirement decisions before the year is over.

✅ No-Surprise Tax Projections: Know where you stand before filing season begins. We project your tax picture throughout the year so you can manage withdrawals, Roth conversions, withholding, and other income decisions with greater confidence.

✅ 1-on-1 Advisory Relationship: You work directly with a CPA who understands your retirement goals, income needs, account mix, family priorities, and long-term tax concerns — not a rotating cast of preparers who only show up in April.

✅ Quantified Recommendations: We don’t just tell you what to consider. We put numbers behind our advice so you can understand the projected tax impact, cash flow effect, and long-term value of each planning recommendation.

✅ Long-Term Tax Strategy: Your tax plan should support where you’re going, not just report where you’ve been. We build strategies around retirement income, Roth conversions, RMDs, Social Security taxation, Medicare thresholds, charitable giving, and legacy goals.

✅ Retirement Income Coordination: Your retirement accounts should work together, not in isolation. We help coordinate taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free accounts to support your lifestyle while managing current taxes and future tax exposure.

✅ Responsive Year-Round Support: No more feeling ignored until deadlines approach. Our clients receive timely communication and ongoing support as retirement decisions arise throughout the year.

✅ A True Retirement Tax Partner: WealthPath is built for those who want more than tax compliance. We provide the guidance, structure, and strategy to help you protect your wealth, preserve your legacy, and make confident decisions throughout retirement.

Common Questions

I already have a CPA, is this different?

Unlike WealthPath, most CPAs don’t do proactive tax planning. They meet with their clients once, or maybe twice, a year, prepare, and file their tax returns. Our proactive approach includes scheduled touchpoints during the year, detailed tax projections so you know where you stand throughout the year, and specialized strategy implementation before the year is over, and it’s too late.

If your current CPA handles your tax preparation and filing, you can absolutely continue working with them. Each of our service models comes with tax preparation, so if you also want a new team for tax prep, we do that too, but only for clients building proactive strategies with us.

How Our retirement tax roadmap works

1. Introductory Fit Call

We discuss your retirement goals, current assets, tax concerns, and whether this planning approach supports your overall comprehensive financial plan.

2. Document Collection and Intake

We collect recent tax returns, retirement and investment account summaries, pension and Social Security information, charitable goals, estimated living expenses, and other relevant planning data through a secure process.

3. Tax Profile and Opportunity Review

We review your current tax position, account mix, income sources, projected retirement cash needs, state tax
considerations, and major planning opportunities.

4. Multi-Year Tax Modeling

We prepare current-year and multi-year tax projections to compare withdrawal strategies, Roth conversion
scenarios, RMD exposure, Social Security taxation, IRMAA considerations, and other planning variables.

5. Retirement Tax Roadmap Presentation

We meet to walk through the written roadmap, key findings, recommended strategy, implementation priorities, and open questions to coordinate with your financial advisor or estate attorney.

6. Implementation and Annual Updates

We assist with tax-side implementation, withholding recommendations, year-end updates and tax return preparation, and annual revisions as part of an ongoing engagement, all with best-in-industry response rates.
